In April 2008, Lilly Allen took a "new direction." She posted two new song demos on her MySpace page and planned to release a mixtape to give her fans an idea of what she was planning next. By 19 August, there were between 250,000 and one million plays for each song from the album that she has made available to listen to on her MySpace page. After the release of her first album, her parent record company, EMI, was taken over by Terra Firma.

I Am Chipmunk is the debut album by British rapper Chipmunk, released on 12th October 2009.
Plunge Productions, contacted by Sony to create a set of letters reading I AM CHIPMUNK for his debut album. They constructed the letters out of MDF which were faced with matt laminate. They worked with Furnace CNC to cut the smaller letters and then hand cut the larger letters. Letters were then mounted onto steel and aluminum frame to make the letters ‘float’.
